Today was invigorating. The weather was so nice and cool. It hasn't rained in SO long, and it's just been sunny and hot day after day, which really wears on me. But not today! Stephanie and I got up to go running and it even started misting on us. It was so nice and cool I wore my new doc marten boots (garage sale=8 bucks!). We went to Target for school supplies (boo!) and went to look for running shoes but didn't find any we wanted (yay and boo). You know, it really is sad when "cool" is 78 degrees for a high. Well, no matter, it will be back to whining and complaining Friday and Saturday when it's 90 and 93 respectively.

Tonight, however, I am bored. It's sad when you really want to be working instead of sitting at home. But I think about it and I have no projects to do, the book I have to read is interesting, but not as interesting as the last one, and I need money.

Joy Electric is addicting.

yesterday I took the kids I babysat to the park. They are really fun kids. We sat on a blanket in the shade and had a picnic lunch, I carried them on piggy back to one tree and raced them back to the blanket. They played on the playground equipment and we looked at books I brought. The most fun, though, showing them how to make whistles out of crabgrass. Those low notes sure did make them laugh, and they laughed even harder when I raised my eyebrow and said "excuse me!"

Unfortunately I got sunburned yesterday on my shoulders and the back of my neck. So goes the life of a pale white girl. The anticipation of skin cancer is killing me!

whoa. that was a bad statement. please erase it from your memory.

So I figured it was finally time to show the new haircut. I actually got it done at the end of March but it wasn't exactly what I wanted, so I had my hairdresser redo it in May. This picture was taken about a week before I got it trimmed in the middle of July. I refer to it as my reverse mullet (business in the back, party in the front). At tomfest I think one of the boys referred to it as a "tellum" after me telling him about the reverse mullet. So lo and behold: my tellum. (that one long piece in the back is just a stray. My bad habit now is running my fingers through my hair).

And these are pictures of my beloved Hannah. First at Omsi with the Portland skyline and Marquam (i believe) bridge in the background. Second is one I just took. It's hard to get a picture of her without her cheesing it up.

My brother is back from basic training today. My sister in law found out this week that the new baby will also be a girl!! It seems very odd that there will be a new addition because Hannah has taken up so much of our attention and love.

It seems that in all of my interest in psuedo theology, service, and social justice I might have lost the reason. I just might have forgotten how huge and wonderful, majestic and powerful, loving and merciful God is. I might have lost the reason I cared in the first place. What a terrible thing to do.
