i have a fun game. since i'm bored. and since everyone else is doing it. that means i must also.

ask me three questions. everyone. EVERYONE! then i answer. cause this is all about me, and nothing else. me me me.

"it was a beautiful letdown when i crashed and burned. when i found myself alone, unknown, and hurt"

so i made this onesie for my niece, right?

my mom used to work for a retired senator here in oregon. he and george bush were in the senate at the same time, and wives of a lot of the men who were new in the senate at the time used to get together for lunch a lot. they still send letters to each other, and my mom, being the secretary and fielding all the mail, got to read a lot of them.

so my mom printed off this picture of my niece hannah, and sent a letter explaining how she used to work for this senator, and how she grew to love and admire barbara from reading her personal letters. She also told her how i got interested in her around Christmas and got her books for Christmas, and then, being the doting aunt, made hannah this onesie.

My mom called me today and told me that we got a handwritten letter in the mail (she said the letter and the picture made her day) and two book plates that say "to meghan, the best aunt, from barbara bush" for my books :) oh man, am i excited!

now, i just gotta send off that switchfoot one.. hmmm.

someone tell me this isn't like a full time job. or a full time job and a half.

today's schedule:
-up at 6:30, to practicum by 8
-back here at 12. e-mail mom, finish resume, apply for job online, eat lunch, clear all girls' hallways for fire marshal's visit
-1pm class
-2:30 visit someone off campus. part PA duty, part friend duty
-4pm one-on-one with Jim. PA duty
-5:30 meet mom
-sometime this evening: grade quizzes from fifth graders, create new quiz for tomorrow.

on the way home i realized all the crap i'm juggling this semester. i can't wait for it to be over.
-16 credit hours, which includes my private bass lessons and 100 hours i have to spend in an elementary classroom on my own time
-PA duties, which sometimes are 24 hours, and being on duty either one day a week, or every two months one whole weekend. this includes hall meetings, hall activities, and staff meetings.
-church responsibilities wednesday nights and sunday mornings
-part-time job whenever i can schedule it in
-family
-friends, and other events around campus (plays, concerts, intramurals (watching), etc.)

i'm ready for a break.

why can't people make up their own minds about music?

i do it, and i find it rather refreshing.

I've seen a lot of people lately listing their favorite books. So, since i'm a trend-loving nerd, here i go, not in any particular order, except for the first one:

*to kill a mockingbird- harper lee.
*poisonwood bible- barbara kingsolver
*the chosen- chaim potok
*circle of quiet- Madeleine L'Engle
*circle of Friends- Maeve Binchy
*girlfriend in a coma- douglas coupland
*the giver- lois lowry

hm. i need to read more. Seems as though i only have 7 favorite books.

i'm really sick of twenty somethings who pretend to be philosophical. everyone can see right through you.

it is, however, fun to be friends with someone who is so smart... and doesn't ever flaunt it. he only talks about it when asked, and understands completely that most of the time i don't understand what he's talking about. and he doesn't care.

his nerdom can be seen in his taking 45 minutes to rank all of the presidents, from best to worst, and writing at least a sentence (or more) on all of them. or his understanding of hebrew. and russian. and german. or his love for something i don't think i'll ever quite understand: film.

but what is great about all of this is that the things listed above aren't even the best things about him.
