it's interesting, you know. it's interesting to be involved in a relationship with someone and know so much about them, more than their public persona. and then it's interesting to watch everyone else feel like they know so much about him. anytime someone assumes or stereotypes him i just want to scream 'you don't even know!'

it's craaazy.

I wonder if anyone else gets mail like me. I may be the only person who, in one day, receives Vanity Fair magazine, a church newsletter, and a mailing from Velvet Blue Music all in the same day.

I love Sufjan. We saw him play last night and it was just so completely enjoyable. It was so nice to just sit and take it all in. I also didn't think he would be funny at all, but I was pleasantly surprised and we had some really great laughs. A word of advice: Don't be like Sufjan- always wear the right shirt.

10 years ago: 1995- I was 12. The summer I was 12 was probably a rough one. My parents had decided to put our house up for sale. We put our dog to sleep. It was the last summer on our street where I had spent my summers with the neighborhood kids playing knockout, kick the can, sardines, and playing in someone's pool (or ours). In a way I felt like my childhood was over. Later that year (december) we moved to a street where my brother and I were the oldest kids (where I had been the youngest at the other street), and so I didn't have any more summer night play. Weird, because we only moved about 3 blocks away. Maybe it was the move, maybe it was just because everyone was growing up.

5 years ago: I was 17, and I probably remember nothing about this summer. Let's see- I think I worked at the daycare, drove an 84 volvo wagon that always had bad starter problems. I most likely spent the whole summer working, doing youth activities, going to camp, hanging out with April, and listening to rock and roll, which was switchfoot, the juliana theory, mxpx, and POD.

1 year ago: It was exciting, that's for sure. I started off my summer by visiting Iowa and making things pretty official with Seth. I spent a lot of my summer on the phone with him, or on the internet with him. I work for the nanny company, lived at my parents' house, went to Mexico once, etc. Other than dating Seth it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I listened to good music, I guess.

Yesterday: I got up early to go to church with natalie for jr. high sunday school. went to service. came back to our house on campus and got ready for the bbq. I made chocolate chip cookies and cleaned. natalie and stephanie both laughed when they got home from shopping for i was sweeping in the living room, wearing an apron "I look like a desperate housewife, I know!" we had some people over: brendan and natalie chatted for a long time in the backyard while poor Matt lived through all the questions Stephanie and I could throw at him about dating and girls and relationships from the guys' point of view. and we played speed on the front lawn. We started watching Shaun of the Dead but went to bed instead. And that rhymed a whole lot.

5 snacks I enjoy: cheese and crackers, clif bars, pirate's booty, CROUTONS, yogurt

5 things I’d do with $100 million: pay off school, buy an old volvo and restore it, pay off my parent's house, pay off my brother and sister-in-law's house, set aside school money for my niece and upcoming niece/nephew, go travel the world, start my daycare, and that's 6 for you.

5 bands that I know the lyrics of most of their songs: Switchfoot, Copeland, Mates of State (at least I try to), Denison Marrs, and some other band that's not coming to my brain right now.

5 locations I’d like to run away to: Maine, Central America, South America, Scotland, India.

5 bad habits I have: not reading, messing with my nose, scratching my head, being bossy, being unintentionally rude.

5 things I like doing: being with my family, being with my friends, reading, being involved in music somehow, road trips

5 things I would never wear: halter top, high heels, strapless anything, "natural" dye in my hair, another piercing.

5 TV shows I like: Brat Camp, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, Law and Order, CSI.

5 movies I like: Life Aquatic, That Thing You Do, To Kill a Mockingbird,

5 famous people I’d like to meet: meeting people and conversing with people are two different things. So, if I were to choose five people, I'd want to spend a day with them: Amy Grant, President Bush, Harper Lee, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and as much as I don't follow anything he does, Bono.

5 biggest joys at the moment: My family (especially my niece who falls into my arms and says 'i got you!' or looks at me and says 'i want you'), my two closest friends Natalie and Stephanie who I spend so much time with that it's ridiculous, the neverending possibilities of music, being okay with summer, running (who'd have thunk it?)

5 favorite toys: current or old? I'm mixing: My hairdryer chair, my accordian and guitar, cabbage patch dolls and my grandma's hand-me-down adding machine.
