First best friend: Ben Dunn. No joke, that was his name. We hung out around the college together, made snowmen together.

First piercing/tattoo: I got my ears pierced when I was 3 or 4. My mom can't complain about my ear piercings since-- she's started it all.
First credit card: never had one.
First enemy: Rebecca Tweed- 3rd grade. Funny, she was a good friend, too. I think it was a love/hate relationship.
First big trip: Probably to Missouri for a family reunion. In the VW Camper bus, baby. We had no air conditioning and we would spray each other with a water bottle. And i saw my first tornado. I think I was about 5 or 6.
First musician you remember hearing in your house: Musical soundtracks.... or Sandi Patty.

Last disappointment: crystal not being at the basketball game last night when i got there/the guys' team losing by two points to those Baptist suckers.

wow. I feel so fed after only being in school a few days. Cultural Anthropolgy is awesome.. you know it's going to be when the teacher takes roll... except he does it by making you all find your own nametag in a pile.... and the names are all in Russian.

And I talked to Rod for a little bit this morning- he said he's been hearing great things about me and being a PA.. and that was really an encouragement... a lot of times i need that, because I don't think I'm doing too well.

And Jess spoke today in chapel.. and as always, it was wonderful. He said something like this, though it was a little different.. but it was mostly "Our lives would be so beautiful if we could stop thinking about ourselves". How true.

Why is it that the kids who boast real, deep relationships with others, full of life and conversation, and interest are the ones who have flings of relationships... and sometimes not even flings of relationships, but ... flings.
