Reading a lot of the travel books I have read over the last few weeks has made me think back on my own travels and how lucky I am.

I thought about being in the Cayman Islands, snorkeling, discovering Jerk chicken, and playing on seven mile beach. I remember being too scared to get in with the stingrays and sitting on the boat by myself watching through the glass bottom. Going to the turtle farm and then later EATING turtle. And that truly marvelous smoothie that I still remember.

We went to England and Scotland when I was 15. I have this picture of me sitting on the East coast of Scotland, trying to hold a smile while I get knocked by wind. I LOVE that picture. It says that I´ve been somewhere. That I´ve actually been to Scotland. I can´t wait to go back. I was jet lagged after the overnight flight into Heathrow and have these weird memories of going to this STRANGE structure in the middle of nowhere to eat lunch right after we got there. We went to a bed and breakfast that was on a farm, and then ventured into town. Right in the cemetery I felt sick and had to be taken back the bed and breakfast where the lady proprietor made me feel at home. The day after we arrived at our home in Scotland we sat in Aboyne´s REAL LIFE SCOTTISH HIGHLAND FAIR. I was so excited. We had been at Hadrian´s wall, and Loch Ness. I remember buying a real British copy of one of Maeve Binchy´s books in a bookstore in Aberdeen.

We went to Windsor and spent a couple lovely days there, it is a nice town outside of London. I nearly lost my family when I went into the Doc Marten´s store in Picadilly. I went up and down those five flights of stairs a million times. I finally found my family outside, mom and joel standing on the side gawking while my dad had been led into the middle of a huge circle by a street magician. Hahah.

Anyway. I am just thinking about these things recently.
