What an odd weekend. Our youth group is so confusing, and being a leader is more confusing. I don't know where anybody stands. None of them were interested. stunk.

I got back here to school a little after 6. I haven't done much since then. I started a lit paper that is due tomorrow at 2:30. Hopefully I can finish that up. I also have yearbook stuff that is due (and overdue) yet i still didn't work on that tonight. I'm such a procrastinator.

So at this youth retreat they have tons of activities for the kids, so that during free time they are busy doing things. basketball, volleyball, pool, foosball, a skate park, rock climbing, etc. There's a ropes course, also. They didn't have the course open, but they did have open what they called the "pamper pole". Basically two poles (you get to choose which one you want to jump). One is about 30-35 feet tall, and it free standing. It is wobbly with a small platform at the top. The other is about 40-45 feet tall, though once you get up to the platform you have the pole behind you to grab on to. It is not wobbly at all, it's very stable. Both have a trapeze bar out in front of it. You're hooked onto a harness and there's a man at the bottom of each ready to catch you when you jump. You aim for the trapeze bar, but really only about 1 in 4 people get it (it's a ways out there).

So i made myself do it. Some girls in my youth group were doing it, and i told myself that this is the kind of pushing-yourself stuff that is going to be done on walkabout, that i needed to do it. So i did. I wasn't nervous at all until i actually got harnessed in and hooked on to the rope, and was waiting for the guy to give me the okay. Then i started climbing up the ladder (I'mgettingsickjustthinkingaboutit!) The ladder goes up to where the pegs on the pole on. You have to climb up the pole on thiese U-shaped metal things (with the open end stuck in the pole if that makes any sense). anyway. You shimmy your way up there, then try to figure out a way to get on the platform (cause it's just a platform sticking like a foot and a half out, and it's just pegs and then try to find your way up onto the platform.. it's hard to explain). And then you stand up there and just jump. it's CRAZY. I stood up there for about a minute and just said to myself "you HAVE to do this" and counted off to myself, and jumped on three. I screamed. I always scream when I fall.

And I told natalie I would do the superman pose. So when I jumped i screamed and closed my eyes, and i heard natalie say "superman!!" so I did it and closed my eyes again, and the next thing I know, half a second later, when i opened my eyes the ground was about an inch from my face lol so i landed laying down on the ground. That was pretty funny.

Okay enough about that. I have nothing else to talk about. There is so much stuff on my bed.. my suitcase, a laundry basket of clean clothes, a book bag. I gotta clean it all up now. Au revoir.
