The chowder preparation began this morning.

I got up at 7:30 so i could shower and get ready before picking up my grandma. I was going to take her to the medical lab. Anyway- we got there and it was closed. She swore up and down that they told her to come in today.. SO! i got home and had nothing to do... i got online for a while, and then decided to start preparing for chowder.

10:30; Peel and chop 4 potatoes. They have to be about the size of a dime (except in square shape) in diameter, and only about 1/4 of an inch thick
10:50-Cut and chop an onion. This takes a while because I don't want to get some chopper out and dirty it, so i just chop it all myself. I did pretty good on the crying bit. I held it together.
11:10-Slice and Cut four stalks of celery (stalks? are they called stalks?). Anyway, each thing gets sliced all the way down about three or four times, then chopped really small.
11:30- Cut and fry bacon. tada!

Now i just have to wait until about 5 to start cooking the rest. Isn't this exciting? It's like Meghan's cooking channel. Her blog channel. Okay maybe not, cause i'm not going to tell you what else goes in the chowder. You'd have to figure that out on your own.

I discovered a new Switchfoot mp3!! it makes me so excited. Good Good stuff. Definitely more rocky than stuff in the past, and i'm just really excited. To find the link, go to this That leads you to a thread on the SF message board, where the guy gives an mp3 link. If it won't let you download, right click on his link and choose "Save Target As". It's quite lovely. Here are the lyrics.

"fumbling his confidence
and wondering why the world has passed him by
hoping that he’s bent for more than arguments
and failed attempts to fly (fly)

we were meant to live for so much more
have we lost ourselves?
somewhere we live inside
somewhere we live inside

we were meant to live for so much more
have we lost ourselves?
somewhere we live inside

dreaming about providence
and whether mice and men have second tries
maybe we’ve been livin with our eyes half open
maybe we’re bent and broken (broken)

we were meant to live for so much more
have we lost ourselves?
somewhere we live inside
somewhere we live inside
we were meant to live for so much more
have we lost ourselves?
somewhere we live inside

we want more than this world’s got to offer
we want more than this world’s got to offer
we want more than the wars of our fathers
and everything inside screams for second life

we were meant to live for so much more"-Switchfoot

He came to earth so that we could have something else to live for. Something besides the self-gratification, materialism and greed this world thinks we should want. Christ came humbly so that we could learn from Him what it means to live, to fully live for others. Through His love and grace and have so much more to live for. Joy to the world, the Lord has come. Merry Christmas :)
